Cylindrical Torsion Spring

In this calculation, a cylindrical torsion spring representing an elastic element with an inner diameter D1, outer diameter D2 and height H is considered.

The spring is under the action of torque T parallel to the spring axis. As a result of calculations, the angle of rotation α and shear stress τ in the elastic element are determined.

For the calculation, the elastic modulus E and Poisson's ratio ν of the spring should be specified.
